The Beauty of Wheat Fields Captured

Is there anything more peaceful than looking on a wheat field? Here are some amazing photos showing the beauty of wheat. Wheat is a sort of grass that is the leading source of vegetable protein in human food. It is originally from the region of the Near East. It is the third most-produced cereal after maize and rice, and the number of production is around 607 million tons every year.

These shots show how amazing wheat is, especially the ones where the sun is hitting the yellow wheat and the colors mix up so well. A perfect harmonically view on nature, and what it gives us. We should be more aware of the nature around us, and that without it we wouldn’t be here either. So these photographs can make us think twice about how we treat nature: actually we only destroy for ourselves when we destroy forests and fields. What is better than fun and colorful art? Artist Ben Wilson knows how to make it, and how to make people smile. He has simply come up with the idea to use regular chewing gum and turn i into a little art project. The thing is that he takes a random piece of gum and heats it up with a burner before he lacquers it so it can be ready to be painted with acrylic paint. All the gums are to be found on the streets of London, they all look like small colorful splats that you can’t step on or you’ll ruin everything.

Wilson has done this for the last six years, and one piece of gum can take him the whole day to finish. He usually signs his gum pieces with B.W. because there is no space for anything big, but sometimes he tries to squeeze in the sentence “the chewing gum man”. So if you’re visiting London sometime soon, watch out for these. If you’d like to see more street art you should check out the “Simpsons street art”.

Extremely Tough Spider Webs

One of human’s biggest fears is definitely spiders, even if a lot of them are small and harmless. Well, that is not the case with the Darwin’s Bark Spider and the web it’s making. It is considered the largest in the world and the most resistant spider web. The funny thing is that the Bark Spider is so tiny, almost 3-4 cm long, but it can built 25 meters long webs that is pretty amazing but somewhat creepy as well. This makes the web the strongest biological material ever, and it is about 10 times stronger than Kevlar.

The Bark Spiders and their webs were discovered by scientist Igni Agnarsson from University of Puerto Rico. They are found in Madagascar, usually around rivers and lakes. This is very clever since a lot of big insects spend their time near the water. People have wondered if the webs can trap bats and birds, but it has still not happened. From the toughest spider web to the worst spider bite: take a look at the damage this Hobo Spider from North America can make.

A ‘Sea’ Made From Old CDs by Bruce Murno

I had some pretty ambitious childhood fantasies and some of them still remain somewhere in my pretty childish mind but I have to admit that Bruce Murno’s childhood fantasy was way more ambitious and crazier than mines. He had a dream to create a huge sea of bunch of CDs and, finally he managed to realize his dream.

Here you can see something what reminds me on one of those happy Teletubies landscapes with plenty of different colors. It is a ‘sea’ made from more than a half of million of old compact discs.

Bruce managed to create this amazing artistic installation with the help of his 140 friends and colleagues.

Abandoned Soviet Nuclear Rocket Launch Silos

We are all aware of the fact that Cold War Soviet Union doesn’t exist anymore. But, once, it was real military machine which was eating the most of the tax income of all Soviet Union states. Military was on the very first place and everything other came after that. We can see that North Korea has very similar military-based politic today.

Soviet Union and the whole Cold War thing is pretty cold now (although there are some sparkles in relations between Russia and USA) but the trails of this pointless race in developing of weapons and military still remains.

The Dvina Complex in Lambarte, Latvia is one of numerous abandoned military complexes which cost a lot of money in time they were built. This complex contains four underground launch silos which were once full of rockets with nuclear heads. Here you can see a few of photos which are showing how this place which cost millions of dollars look now.

The Moeraki Boulders – Almost Perfectly Shaped Natural Stone Spheres

The Moeraki Boulders are amazing stone spheres and they remind me a lot on those mysterious spheres which can be found in South America or some European countries.

Unlike the mysterious spheres from South America for which archaeologists do not have reasonable explanation, those are something different. Those spherical boulders are formed in sea floor sediments in the process which is similar to process of the creation of pearls.

Those spheres were forming for thousands of years and it is amazing how their shapes are almost perfect like they were made by humans not by the nature. Some of them are pretty big and are about 3 meters in diameter. Those boulders can be found on a Koekohe Beach in New Zealand.

Super Mario is one of the most recognizable and most famous game character of all times. There is no many people who didn’t play Super Mario game, and the game is popular even today.

Super Mario is hero and he can overcome any problem, he can beat any beast including that fire-spitting dragon. But, according to following photos Super Mario is not only hero in the world of games, Super Mario has skipped all boundaries of unreal gaming world an became part of reality. It seems that he was involved in almost every important event and was present in almost every place on earth and even further, he managed to fly into space and who knows where more he has been…

One of the hardest battles took a place in white house where Super Mario met fire-spiting dragon, again.

It seems that Super Mario and his fellowship were having some fun while that unknown guy decided to stand in front of the tank column in Tianmen Square.

While swimming, don't forget what troubles Super Mario had when he had to swim in sea.

King Kong had to 'digitalize' itself to try to find Super Mario so he became Donkey Kong. But Super Mario was always fast enough to run away on time.

How did you even think to raise that flag without Super Mario, flag-raising master?

If you see an unusual flying object in space, or some strange colors, don't forget that it could be Super Mario or some of his friends.
