Posted on 06 February 2010 by

The 70’s era saw many innovative playground structures. Do you remember that Miracle Fun house or the Earth Tone barrel of fun? The Miracle fun house is made out of wooden planks and fiber glass enclosure. This way the run for fun activity is kept safely inside the Miracle Fun House. Here fitness is combined with fun.

Those days playgrounds had lots of features for tiny tots too. Humpty dumpty house is a rolling house specially designed for tiny tots who are not ready for bigger games. This has smooth corner ends and is made of fiber glass planks. It also has a safety guard on bearings and wheels. Big kids can’t fit in these houses, thus only small kids can enjoy the Humpty dumpty house of fun.

Welcome in Cakeland

Posted on 15 January 2010 by

Looks like a dream filled with all decorative cakes. The Cakeland in Oakland is literally for the sweet addicts. The place which is created to appear as the delicious collection of the tempting cakes all around is actually the artistic work that is articulately done to resemble these amazing collections of delicious cakes. It is simply about the cakes all over- whether the cakes placed on tables, mounted on walls or as hangings from the ceiling, or stacked on top of each other.

These Scott Hove’s cakes are everything one desire for but are not consumable. The good thing about them is that they can last long until the artist or the society wants them to be preserved, unlike the real cakes which are exhaustible. It is mainly because of the material these artificially flavored delicious cakes are made of viz. acrylic, wood and cardboard.

But in order to preserve them and their beauty accurately, some of these cakes are well-equipped with some sharp tools as defense to hold the cakes from getting melted. According to Hove, it can be called as the anti-cake making the beauty vulnerable and transitory and short-lived. Though it is an amazing place but Hove considers it to be a pilgrimage place away from the realistic problems of life while some consider it to be a kind of torture.

The Cano Cristales – River of Rainbow in Colombia

Posted on 23 December 2009 by

The Cano Cristales, touted as the most beautiful river in the world (also called as the “River of five colors”), is definitely a treat to human eyes. It is so indistinguishable from other rivers of the world, that just a look at it or a beautiful visit to it can leave an everlasting impression on a person. A river flowing in Colombia runs for about 100 km before joining into the main water body. It is located in the northern part of Colombia, in “Sierra de la Macarena”. The real pictures of the river look more of a graphical representation, but which is not the case. It appears like that because of the rainbow colors which the river reflects, at a particular season every year.

The river can be seen with multi-color mosses and algae all around, at a specified time of a year, otherwise which appear to be dull green and brown all over. The multi-color effect is mainly due to the variation in the water level which is affected during some parts of the year, and thus making the mosses bright up and blooms for the spectators. The water level adjusts the required sunlight for the plants, but if observed in the dry and rainy seasons, the picture is different.

There is a kind of shallowness in the dry season and a kind of swampy in the rainy season which do not give out that illuminating rainbow effect all over. The point lies in between the two, and perhaps, this is where the water level is appropriate for the display of all the spectacular combinations of red, green, yellow, and blue algae.

The waterfalls too, from the river adding more radiance to the already existing spectacle. The river is more of a biological heritage for the people of La Macarena, attracting many adventurers and tourists from all around the globe.

Posted on 15 December 2009 by

Often people are fascinated by a beautiful scenic spot of land and decide to build their dream house there. But those who dream and are fascinated by a beautiful hilly land, they build their homes on the hills. And these people did not wish to obstruct the natural appeal of their surroundings. Believe it or not some people did manage to do that, they built a lavish home that was all underground! Located in Vals, Switzerland, this house is built inside one part of a hill providing a breathtaking view of the hills.

The rooms are large and airy with skylight windows in the den .The bedrooms have exquisite window seats and custom built wood furniture and beds. The entire decor of this underground house is done in soft earthy, pastel shades and colors, all in the Endeavour to camouflage it into its natural surroundings. The best part of this house is its lavish courtyard complete with a hot water tub, spot lights for security and lounge chairs for sunbathing.

Homemade Roller Coaster

Posted on 24 November 2009 by

The roller coasters are amusement rides which are very popular in amusement parks and fairs. The roller coaster is just like a railroad system only that a roller coaster has different patterns especially the vertical loops that go up and down. The roller coasters are categorized based on the layout, the height, the train type and the mechanics used.

A home made roller coaster is mostly made from timber that had been treated to avoid rotting and termite infestation. The DIY home made roller coaster is made from pieces of wood which are equal in length and are nailed together in a way to make a cart which goes up and down until you achieve the length you want and then a cart like structure for accommodating the passengers with guide wheels is made and put on top of the track which serves as the rail tracks for the passengers. All thanks to Jeremy Reid, the creator of this one where you will find more interesting pictures and videos about this roller coaster.
