We all love animated movies and the reason for them being so popular are because animator Winsor McCay made them that way. He was really famous for his comic strips Little Nemo and Gertie the Dinosaur, but here is a selection of his socio-political cartoons from 1929 to 1930. He was always into politics and he wanted to express it somehow. Obviously he managed to do so in a non-boring way because his cartoons have really amused people. His work has been a big inspiration for cartoonists today, even Walt Disney has learned from him.
The interesting part is that a lot of the debates that his cartoons represented are still hot topics today, like for instance US interventionist policies in other countries. Cartoons today don’t look so different; here are some fun examples of how famous cartoons will look like when they get old.
