Street Monkeys In Cambodia – Entertainment Or Animal Cruelty?

This is probably one of the most disturbing forms of entertainment for people in Western countries. It’s basically animal cruelty. On the other hand, in countries like Indonesia and India street monkeys are completely normal. Poor citizens dress up little monkeys like dolls and train them to act like humans. The monkeys have a chain around their neck while they are forced to entertain people in the streets.

Just a few pay attention and give some money to the owners of the monkeys, but most people don’t even bother looking. They earn very little on this street performances, but for them it’s better than nothing. Luckily the street monkeys have been reduced since Jakarta is getting more and more affluent, and the Jakarta Animal Aid Network are doing there best to put a stop on this animal cruelty. Macaque Monkey Is A Photobomb

You have maybe heard about the crazy Macaque monkey that stole a photographers camera to take photos of himself. If not, here is the story: Visiting a national park in North Sulawesi, Indonesia, award-winning photographer Mr Slater left his camera unattended for a while.

Nearby a female black macaque monkey was attracted to it. She was fascinated by her reflection in the lens and somehow she started to trigger the camera which resulted in amazing portraits. These type of monkeys are very know for their intelligence, but this one surprise a lot of people.

At first we all thought the photos were fake, but they’re really not. Now suddenly this female monkey has become a photobomb on several other photos of famous photographers. It’s funny how her head peaks up everywhere. Like she has been borrowing their cameras as well. Now, monkeys are actually great posers, just check out this photo session.

Real-Life Jurassic Park Experience in Cuba

We know how dinosaurs looked like, and some of us have seen skeletons of them at museums, but how cool would it be if we could see life sized models of them? That actually exists, believe it or not. In “Valle de la Prehistoria” that is located near the city of Santiago de Cuba there are life-sized dinosaur models. When you enter the place or the park you can see hundreds of dinosaurs.

It’s just like being in Jurassic Park, because the Valle de la Prehistoria is huge, around 11 hectares of land. It includes 227 sculptures that represent 59 dinosaur species. Felines, mammoths and cavemen are also to be found in the park.

The sculptures are made by a group of inmates who used a special building technique called ferrocement.

Several tourists come here to visit every day, and they leave saying that it was an amazing experience that takes you way back in time. Other parks that are worth visiting is the Freestyle Music Park in South Carolina with a replica of Stonehenge.

Baby Fish Living In The World’s Smallest Aquarium

Anatoly Konenko is a Siberian craftsman that is responsible for the smallest aquarium in the world. It is so small that it’s only 30 x 24 x 14 mm and it about contains 10 ml of water. It’s obvious that normal fish can’t fit in it, so it’s made exclusively for small baby fish that has enough room to swim around in it.

Soon as they grow up they are replaced to a bigger aquarium. It is filled up with beautiful and colorful stones and some sand.

To keep the water healthy and clean the aquarium contains a water purification filter, which is unbelievable how they got room to fit it in.

Anatoly Konenko has been working with baby fish since forever, and has always been interested in detailed miniature work like writing on rice grains. Speaking of small stuff, this post office is the world’s smallest, located in San Francisco, and it works like a normal postal service would do.

Baby Hippo And Tortoise Make Wonderful Couple

This couple is inseparable, a baby hippo and a tortoise have found love. They have to be the strangest couple ever, but they eat, sleep, swim and play together. The funny thing is that they are almost the same size, the baby hippo is still little and the tortoise or land turtle tend to get pretty big.

They are both vegetarians so there are no arguing about what food they are eating. They can be found in a Mombasa animal facility, and they attract a lot of people, because it is simply unbelievable. Maybe the baby hippo thinks that the tortoise is its surrogate mother, who knows?

Either way they have to be the cutest animal couple, and they show how love conquers all, you don’t have to be completely like your partner to make it work. Speaking of wonderful animals here are a whole selection of amazing black and white animal photos, enjoy!

Birth Of An Ant

Seeing an ant be born is like watching a whole process of nursing and cleaning going on. The ants really help each other to come out of the cocoons they are born in. In most ant species only the queen ant lays eggs. The males she mated with soon die, and she only mate once.

The worker ants collect the eggs and care for the larvae and pupae. The pupae is the cocoon which looks like a rice grain. It is very necessary for the queens to produce as many ants as possible, because an average worker ant lives 2-3 weeks, so they need to be replaced in order to sustain the colony.

Here you can see the process of an ants birth in pictures. There is something about the ants that makes them look like caring creatures; they take care of each other, and it’s almost weird to think how such a small insect can understand that the ants need help to come out of their pupaes.

Birds As Military Generals

You know paintings of old generals and old military leaders. Try switch up their faces with bird faces, like pigeons for example – hilarious! Artist Samantha Zaza created illustrations where she painted important uniforms that could belong to any known general, and painted in bird faces.

The birds look so serious and some look even proud, so you can’t take them serious because it all looks so funny. Some have even put on a evil face, almost like they know what the uniform means. As a child Samantha sat a lot in a fig tree drawing, and she really drew all over anything she came across; the school benches, her hands, clothes and her books. Speaking of paintings, you should take a look at these incredible ones that shows Star Wars characters and scenes.

Paradise of Homeless Dogs and Cats

It is sad how many cities tend to “get rid” of homeless dogs and cats, because they obviously don’t want them to be loose. In Kiev, the capital of Ukraine the homeless animals are lucky, because they have their own shelter where they can get something to eat, and have shelter for the night, and of course if it is bad and cold weather.

The shelter is located on a former city dump and is run by SOS animals society of Kiev. It has cheerful paintings and graffiti of dogs and cats on the walls, so it looks friendly. 2000 stray dogs and cats are staying there every day, and it seems like it’s working with no problems whatsoever; all of the animals are getting along, even dogs with cats.

It is best for them to stay there than to be put to sleep because nobody wants them. Now that we’re talking about dogs, you just have to take to meet this Pug, the saddest dog ever.

Black-and-white Animal Photos Never Fail

There is something great about black-and-white photos. They make the picture look more artistic in a way. Here is a selection of several black-and-white animal photos taken out in the wild. They are so amazing that it would be a shame not to print them and put them in frames. We seem to forget how beautiful animals can be, especially in their natural environment.

The lightning and the angles are perfectly in harmony with the expression that the pictures give. But obviously not anyone can capture so dramatic yet beautiful pictures, not the mention the patience you must have, because wild animals or animals in general are not good posers. The photos are from several different photographers, but they have all done an amazing job. Sheep Moving In To “Hobbiton”

Hobbiton is known as the little village in the Lord of the rings trilogy, where the Hobbits are living in small houses. In real life that place is called Matamata and is located in New Zealand. After shooting the movie, the little village became a tourist attraction, and the reason for that is not only because of the movies, but the sheep that are staying there.

They just moved in from a farm nearby, and it is funny because it looks like they are actually living there. The tourists that get a toured guide in the former Hobbiton have the opportunity to pet the lambs that are lying inside the houses. The village has perfect nature surroundings and the sheep are just giving it the idyllic untouched hint.

The reason why the houses are simple and empty is because they didn’t need to furnish them, and that is because they used only Bilbo’s house in the movie, that was shot in a studio somewhere else. It is as idyllic as in the movie; the sheep has just made it more farm-likely. Speaking of Hobbit houses, this man built a hobbit looking house, looking like the Hobbit ones, in Wales.
