5 Facts About Lamborghini

Posted on 21 August 2009

Are you a big Lamborghini fan?

Most of us agrees that Lamborghini is a great looking car and I am sure that many wealty people who love cars wouldn´t hesitate to have one in their collection. Cars like Lamborghini Diablo, the Gallardo and the Murcielago are like candy to my eyes. Here is a list of 5 facts you should know about Lamborghini…

Fact 1

Did you know that the fastest Lamborghini, with a reported top speed of 370 km/h,  is the Le Mans version of the Murcielago R-GT model. The fastest street model from Lamborghini, with a reported top speed of 340 km/h,  is the Murcielago LP640. Both of the models have a V12 engine with more than 6000 cc.

Fact 2

Did you know that Lamborghini used to be an independent company, but went bankrupt in 1978 and was sold to Chrysler. In 1998, the German company, Audi AG, became the owner of  Lamborghini.

Fact 3

Did you know that most of the Lamborghini models are produced with a V12 engine, even though the newest model, Gallardo, have a V10 engine oil. No Lamborghini have ever been produced with less than a V8 engine.

Fact 4

Did you know that the first Lamborghini was produced in 1963 and called for the 350GTV. With a top speed of 280 km/h, the 350GTV was extremely fast back in 1963. The first Lamborghini to go faster than 300 km/h came out in 1974 and was called for the Countach.

Fact 5

Did you know that the Countach, the Diablo and the Murcielago all have scissor doors (that rotate up and forward on a hinge near the front of the door), but the Gallardo does not.  Both the Diablo and the Countach are no longer being produced, so the only Lamborghini car with scissor doors today is the Murcielago.

I believe this to be a true story.

Mr Lamborghini being a Italian manufacturer of tractors went to Enzo Ferrari to purchase a Ferrari after driving it for a week Mr Lamborghini took it back to Enzo and said “The car is fantastic but you don’t know how to make a clutch!” So Enzo responded ” Go make your own car then.” So thats where Mr Lamborghini went from solely making tractors, to making sports cars aswell.

My god what a terrible article. Here’s a tip: Learn how to write in English, or at least have someone who speaks it edit your paper before you post it.

Also, you don’t have to begin each item with “Did you know?”

  3. efrainNo Gravatar Says:

Another REALLY interestin fact is that most of the names of the models are from famous Bullfiting bulls: Murcielago, Diablo, Gallardo, that’s why they are in spanish, you know, Spain is the home of the Corridas de Toros (Bullfights), even the name Miura -one of the first Lambos- is the name of a bulls kind. The badge, “The Ragging Bull” is the type of bulls used for the Toreo (Bullfight), not any kind of bull!!!

you are right James that is the story How FERRUCCIO LAMBORGHINI started

  9. JaceNo Gravatar Says:

another fact is laborghini used to make tractors (and i belive they still do, they were white and a light greyish blue :]

here’s a link to a photo of one

I’m surprised you didn’t note that Lamborghini started out making tractors soon after World War II from leftover military equipment. By the mid-1950s Lamborghini Trattori S.p.A had become one of the largest agricultural equipment manufacturers in Italy.

They still make tractors — http://www.lamborghini-tractors.com

A lot of the facts are wrong.

    1. The fastest Lambo is the Reventon at 356 km/h
    2. Was sold to Chrysler in 1987
    3. The fist Lambo’s were tractors which had smaller engines.
    4. The first car produced was the 350GT. The 350GTV was just a show car and didn’t even have an engine.
    5. Correct

  12. FRiDGENo Gravatar Says:

Yeah, and now the true story:

    1) Lamborghini is owned by Volkswagen AG, the company that produces the Beetle and Golf.

    2) Lamborghini car keys are identical to those of Skoda Fabia, the $10,000 supermini?

    3) Lamborghini was a tractor maker long before starting sports car production?

  13. ktonNo Gravatar Says:

LOL are you serious? most of these facts are wrong and those which aren’t are common sense/not interesting at all

    get a life, loser

  14. A to da Z Azibhit mukahidin abu rafiq (LOL)No Gravatar Says:

    DID YOU KNOW?!

    UR repetitive haha

  15. Robert KimNo Gravatar Says:

Yes, I new all of these facts already and I have met Ferruccio Lamborghini an I’m in touch with his family still to this day. I also own a 25th Anniversary Lamborghini Countach. By the way, the Murcielago R-GT is no longer the fastest Lamborghini, I have increased my 25th Anniversary Countach’s horse power, torque, bore and stroke, and gear ratio plus added four turbo chargers bringing my car’s top speed well beyond 420km/h and I did it without having to change the design of the car. So if you think you can catch me, you’ve flunked driver’s ed. Now go back to class and quit dreaming in bed.

  16. sheepNo Gravatar Says:

Yes I do know. I also know that whom ever wrote this article is a piss taker or someone who is 4 years old and easily impressed….WOOOOOWWWWW, the sky is BLUE!!!! WOW!!!!!

Fact6: Lamborghinis are the most expensive cars in theworld

  18. FussbodenheizungNo Gravatar Says:

Did you know that since Lamborghini is owned by Audi the motors do not die anymore by overheating and the reliability has been increased dramatically. This car can run today up to 200.000 km without having a new motor!

  19. DDNo Gravatar Says:

    LoL, this is Pathetic……

  20. OompaNo Gravatar Says:

Worst article ever. Not only are these 5 facts mostly common knowledge to anyone that is a fan of Lamborghini but the last one is flat out wrong. The Gallardo does in fact have scissor doors as well. They swing out first but then swing up.

You left out all the important facts which have been stated here by everyone else. I agree with the crowd, take a long walk off a short pier and drown!!

  21. alessioNo Gravatar Says:

The main part of the article is missing

The Dialogue and DUELL Between enzo ferrari racing car constructor of Modena and Mr Lamborghini tractor bulder of modena…

This Duell gave birth to the Lamborghini, once a proud Italian sport car with a soul..
The Bull Hate the red color the colr of the ferrari. Ferrari the matador LAMBORGHINI THE BULL.

Once there was the Lamborghini countach a car with haert and soul. Now Germans have amputated that soul inside the lambo…

Now Since Volkswagen GMBH bought it you just have German clones.
The germans made Audi R8 clones out of the Lamborghini and they catch easier fire than ronsons, unreilable and without a soul.

You want a real Italian car, let the geman clone down and buy a Ferrari, reliable and fatser with soul
